- Winchester White Box – mixed bag… many report it being dirty, and causing issues. Probably OK if you get it really cheap, but not optimal.

Search online (google, reddit, calguns forum) and ask which FFL’s do the cheapest ammo transfers.

Also, consider getting your FFL03 to get ammo shipped directly to your house (if your city allows it) without the FFL fee (nor taxes?). Instructions here. More info here and here.

- Ship ammo directly to your house
- Purchase ammo out of state, and bring it back
- Exempt from 1 in 30 days firearms law
- Exempt from 10 day wait on C&R firearms
- Purchase C&R out of state, and bring them back immediately
- Purchase C&R long guns from CA residents, directly

FFL: Tommy @ MoreauWorks is a good dude, and does really cheap ammo transfers. Find a good deal online from the list above, and coordinate it with him. Located in San Marcos.
Note: for self-defense ammo, best to get the same rounds used by SDPD. This would be Hornady Critical Duty.
I assume Hornady Critical Defense would also be OK, though I am not sure. (Critical Defense is supposed to give better performance in shorter barreled pistols, 4″ and lower).
